Observe how you are treating yourself in thought, work and  deed.  Are you being kind and gentle with yourself or are you being harsh and critical?  Simply by observing how you are treating yourself allows you to be aware of your attitudes towards yourself.  If you find that you are not being your own best friend, then you can change your attitude to one that is more supportive of yourself.

Try being your own best friend for a while.
