February is the month that we celebrate Valentine’s Day, a holiday that honors love. I thought it might be a nice month to honor the heart chakra.
The heart chakra is located in the area of your physical heart. The heart chakra is the energy center for love, compassion, emotions, intimacy and nurturance. When the heart chakra is balanced we are able to give and receive love and our emotions move freely and can be processed. If the heart chakra is unbalanced ( due to trauma, hurt and pain) it becomes difficult to give and receive love and our emotions can become blocked. Blocked emotions can cause problems in relationships and in the physical body creating disease.
You can work with the heart chakra in the following ways for some examples:
Herbs: catnip, foxglove, motherwort, passion flower, rose hips
Oils: bergamot, cedar wood, eucalyptus, lavender, rose, rosemary, ylang ylang
Gems: emerald, malachite, peridot, jade, rose quartz, diamond
Journaling: helps to release blocked emotions
Energy work: Reiki, massage, chakra exercises
Movement: yoga, dancing
You can work with the coherence of the heart by shifting from your head and breathing with your heart, as you are breathing with your heart think of something that brings you joy and happiness
If you have a pet you can imagine the love you have for your pet and feel that same love for yourself
Finding gratitude in the simple things everyday: walking, talking, breathing……..
